Abstract
This presentation was given on 19th March 2024 at AIUK, The Alan Turing Institute's yearly showcase of data science and AI.
It presents research from the Skills Policy Award Project - Professionalising traditional and infrastructure research roles in data science.
We present a case for the narrative of data science roles focused on 'the data scientist' to be moved towards 'data science teams' made up of individuals performing diverse roles with specialised skills to enable more impact and greater sustainability to data science research.
